I never had Mr. Etters as a teacher, but he seemed to me to be a very nice man and well liked by all. I was at Kenmore High School 1972-1974. So sorry for your loss.

I see the gentleman that John was every day, every moment, in his eldest son, my husband. Forever grateful I got to be a small part of John's world and that I get to live the rest of my days with someone who reminds me so much of him. To the family, and especially George, may the peace that passeth all understanding come to you soon. We will grieve but we should also remember that God welcomed John, a believer, into his heavenly home with love. "For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain." Philippians1:21. Love, hugs, and peace.

Whether you had Mr. Etters for a play, drama, or an English class he was one of your favorites. Not only was he my teacher he was my Mom's as well. His love for Kenmore was undeniable. My condolences to George and the family he has touched so many lives and I hope you know that his memories will last forever, one of my favorite memories was the summer grease production when he was teen angel and sang beauty school drop out.

It was my pleasure to have worked with John's English classes when they would come into Kenmore's Library/Media Center for reference assignments. Every student would speak of him with warmth and gratitude for having his guidance and wisdom through the years. He treated everyone with respect. Librarian, John Harper, passed away in 2011. Now, these witty and intellectual gentle men can resumes their great talks. Peaceful journey into Eternity, dear man.
