John W. Etters

John W. Etters, 80, passed away unexpectedly on October 4, 2020. Born on August 10, 1940, the only child of George and Mabel Etters, he grew up in Portage Lakes at the family store and gas station on South Main Street. A graduate of Coventry High School and Kent State University, John spent his entire career teaching English, directing plays and musicals, and playing for Baccalaureate at Kenmore High School. A talented musician, he enjoyed playing organ and directing the choirs of several local churches over the years, most recently at St. John"s Lutheran in Firestone Park.

John is survived by his loving husband, George Zvolensky; children, Jimm (Linda Uhl) Etters, Janine (Russ) Lovin, and Jef Etters; and grandson, Jacob (Kaylie) Lovin. He will be sadly missed.
