John F. Rich

John F. Rich, 88, passed away May 31, 2010. John was born on Oct. 30, 1921 to Italian immigrants Joseph and Grace Rich. He lived his entire life on North Hill except for 3 years serving in the US Army during World War II with the 355 Engineer Regiment in Europe. While in England he met and married Thelma (Ruffell). John retired from the BF Goodrich Co. after 42 years of service. He was a member of the Carovillese Society and the Dean Heights Club. John is preceded in death by his wife Thelma (Ruffell) Rich; brothers, Nebo, Armond, Louis and Mario Rich. He leaves behind his loving sons, Keith (Jean), Brian and Gary (Terri) Rich; grandchildren, Sgt. Keith Rich, Karen (Jacob) Summers, Stephanie Rich, Jessika Rich and Kevin Rich; great-granddaughters, Nina and Ella Summers; sisters, Victoria (Joe) Vatalaro and Levia Conti. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, 10:00 am at the Blessed Trinity Church, 300 E. Tallmadge Ave., Akron. Visitation will be ONE HOUR PRIOR TO SERVICE TIME at the church. John's final resting place will be Holy Cross Cemetery with military rites conducted by VFW Firestone Post 3383.
