John D Sadler, 80, loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022 in Sandusky, OH.
John was born in Akron, Ohio on Saturday, Jan. 17, 1942 to the late Charles and Marie (Stroempl) Sadler. He had both a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree from Kent State University and served 31 years as an elementary educator and administrator. John lived in Uniontown for most of his adult life where he was an active member of his community: working as a Principal at Uniontown Elementary School, coaching youth sports, volunteering in various capacities, and attending Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He also worked as a Principal in the Copley-Fairlawn School District (Herberich Elementary) where he retired in 1995. Most recently, John moved to Lakeside-Marblehead in 2015 where he made many new friends and was a vital member of his new community. John led an active life, and he greatly enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. He loved sports as a participant, coach, and fan, and he was especially a fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes. John traveled often to visit family and friends, and he never missed an important moment in the lives of his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara M. Sadler. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Robert Ovall, III); son, Daniel (Tina) Sadler; loving companion of 5 years, Mary Rita Moore; grandchildren Mia, Renee, Olivia, Quinn, and Lani; brothers Charles Sadler and Joe Sadler; Sister Karen; and many other loving family and friends.
Memorial Service will be 11:00 am Friday, June 3, 2022 at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 300 E. Tallmadge Ave. with Rev. Father Thomas McCann, Celebrant. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the church. John's final resting place will be Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice (steinhospice.org).
