John V. "Jack" Markling Jr.

John V. “Jack” Markling, Jr., 76, passed away on December 30, 2020. He was born March 22, 1944 in Akron, OH. John graduated from Manchester High School and retired as a math teacher with the Akron Public Schools. John was a devoted and loving son, father, father-in-law, grandfather, uncle, family member, and friend. He loved sharing time with his family, friends, and grandpets; watching sports; attending his grandchildren’s events; and playing Euchre the “John Markling Way.” Most of all, John was a shining example for his son and grandchildren on how to live an honorable life as both a Christian and man.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Agnes and John V. Markling, Sr.; sister, Carol Geis. He is survived by his son, Matthew (Kathleen) Markling; daughter, Kristin (Bob Daniels) Markling; grandchildren, Declan, Nevan, Ian, Brin, Beckman; nephew, Edward Geis; nieces, Katheryn Mills and Vicki Geis; extended Walters, Bennett, and Kuh Families.

Friends may call at Bacher Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd., Akron on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Private family services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment at Manchester Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Markling Family Foundation, 1894 N. Cleveland-Massillon Rd., Akron, OH 44333 in memory of John.
