John White, 79, is now with his Lord and Savior. He died on December 14, 2020 after a hard-fought battle with COVID. Born in Akron, he graduated from South High in 1959 and was an Eagle Scout. John was a member of The Chapel in Akron, was a former deacon and active in his ABF, The Fellowheirs Class. John loved the game of golf, especially when playing with his brother, Jim. He also liked the poker games with his buddies. He worked his entire life as a machinist, and then was plant manager at Prospect Mold. He was born December 8, 1941 and always said “he started World War II.”
John was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Thelma White; granddaughter, Rachel; and brother, Jack.
Left to mourn his passing are his loving wife of 56 years, Linda; son, Mark (Kathy); daughter, Patti; grandchildren, Josh (Melissa), Caleb (Tara), Anne (Jeff) Donley and Benjamin (Jessica) Gay; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Hayden, Blake, Brody, Oliver and Everett; He also leaves his siblings, Jim (Mary), Judie Svoboda, Jeanette (Jim) Michel, and Wayne Svoboda; plus many nieces and nephews and of course, Rocky.
Friends may call at Bacher Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd., Akron on Saturday, December 19, 2020 from 12 to 2 p.m. For the safety of the family and other guests, masks are required, and the number of people permitted in the building at a time will be limited. Your cooperation and patience are appreciated.
A private funeral service will be held at the family’s convenience. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Salt Box Ministries, 408 Market St. W, Canal Fulton, OH 44614, in memory of John.
