Josephine C. LaRose "Mama Jo"

Josephine C. LaRose "Mama Jo", 94, passed away peacefully Oct. 5, 2014 at Sunrise of Cuyahoga Falls. Josephine was born in Akron. She was a graduate of West High School. She retired from Fred Arbogast Sporting Goods. She also enjoyed working for North Hill Laundry for over 15 years. Her family considered her the best cook in the world. She loved cooking for her family and friends; no one ever went home hungry. Josephine is preceded in death by her husband, Peter; parents, Antonio and Giusepina Semilia; and siblings, Samual and John Semilia and Mamie Logiudice. She is survived by her children, Jasper (Adelaide) LaRose and Catherine Beer; grandchildren, Tanya (Raymond) Dunkle, Regina (Thomas) Menza and Kristina Beer; great-grandchildren, Andrew and Allison Dunkle and Abbey and Nick Menza; brother, Anthony Semilia; and many other nieces, nephews and friends. Josephine's family would like to extend a special thank-you to the staff at Sunrise of Cuyahoga Falls and Harbor Light Hospice for all their loving care and compassion. Funeral service will be Wednesday, 11:00 am at Hennessy-Bagnoli-Moore Funeral Home, 936 N. Main St., Akron (corner of N. Main and Mildred Ave.). Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Josephine's final resting place will be Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harbor Light Hospice, 25 S. Main St., Suite 7, Monroe Falls, OH 44262.
