Joy C. Martter

Joy C. Martter, 83, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2024. She was born on Saturday, March 8, 1941 in Akron, Ohio to the late Ivan and Pauline Puraty and lived in the Akron area all of her life. Joy was a faithful member of Norton Apostolic Church. She was devoted to caring for her son, Phillip and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joy never missed America's Funniest Videos and American Idol and enjoyed trying new recipes. She enjoyed crocheting, plants, animals, and spending time with her church family and friends.

Joy was preceded in death by her son, Phillip Martter; brothers, Daniel Puraty and David Puraty. She is survived by her son, Steven Martter; daughters, Debbie O'Brien, Ruth Ann Murillo; grandchildren, Michelle (Stephen) Kellar, Juliana Murillo, Phillip (Jill) Martter, Sarah (Cody) Cutwright; great-grandchildren, Valerie, Milan, Luka, Elin, Phillip, Miller Joy; and many other loving family and friends.

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 28, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Hennessy Bagnoli Moore Funeral Home, 936 N. Main St., Akron, OH 44310. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, March 29, 2024 at Norton Apostolic Christian Church, 3816 Greenwich Road, Norton, Ohio 44203.
