Judith Marie Hanna

Judith Marie Hanna, 67, passed away Oct. 21, 2008. Judith was born on July 25, 1941, in Akron, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Helen Farr and brothers Edward and William Farr. She was happiest surrounded by her family and she passed in their loving presence. Her life was devoted to nurturing, whether it was her children, her grandchildren, her pets or her plants. She was generous with her love and attention to her friends and her family, especially in their early and later years. Always ready with a warm smile, people were reassured by her kind personality. Still, she would not have made a good politician, as she was consistently straightforward and told people the truth of her experience, especially if she believed it would benefit them. She married and had her three sons at an early age, though she would not consider herself a homemaker. She had an adventurous life, traveling and seeing many places and doing many things as a trailblazer in her family. She loved words and was an avid reader and doer of crossword puzzles and player of scrabble. She did not identify with a specific career, though she worked as a truck driver and in administration at First Energy Corporation among the various jobs she held during her life. Judith is survived by her sons, David (Judy A.) Hanna of Akron, Jim (Ann) Hanna of Portland, ME., and Mike Hanna of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Katharine, Benjamin, Danielle, Matthew, Alexandrea, and Michael Hanna; sister, Jeannie (Tim) Starkey of Hartville; and Bubby, her loving dog. Visitation will be held on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 1 to 3 pm at HENNESSY-BAGNOLI FUNERAL HOME, 936 N. Main Street, Akron, with a memorial service immediately after.
