Katherine E. Landefeld

Katherine E Landefeld, nee Vaughn and Pamer, 86, passed away on Palm Sunday. Born on in Limaville, OH on March 24, 1921 to the late Ivor and Esther (Lightner) Vaughn, Katherine lived in the Akron area most of her life. She was an active member of Trinity United Church of Christ and their Mary Martha's Circle and 3M Fellowship. She also volunteered with Mobile Meals and worked for the A and P for almost 50 years. Katherine was an avid Bowler. She and her husband Paul represented the State of Ohio in the Senior Olympics bowling event. Along with her parents, Katherine is preceded in death by her young love John Pamer; Mature love Paul Landefeld; brother, Jack Vaughn; sister, Jean DiMauro; and daughter, Christy Fueston. She is survived by her daughter, Lana (Sam) Broda, and Paul's children, Dr. Marsha (Metz) Landefeld and Bill (Carrie) Landefeld; grandchildren, Matthew and Mara Broda, Brian and Jessica Fueston, and Andrew, William and Nicholas Landefeld; sisters, Donna (Paul) Gless and Shirley (Bill) Kerns; brother, Jerry Vaughn; sister-in-law Rose Ritter; and a host of other loving nieces and nephews. Katherine's family would like to extend a very special thank-you to the staff of Sunrise Assisted Living and Dr. Ross Black for all of the loving care and support. Funeral service will be Friday, 11:00 am at Trinity United Church of Christ, 915 N. Main St., Akron with Pastor Roger Mize officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8 pm at HENNESSY-BAGNOLI FUNERAL HOME, 936 N. MAIN ST., AKRON across from Trinity Church. Katherine's final resting place will be Rose Hill Burial Park.
