Kenneth S. Evans

Kenneth S Evans from Portage Lakes, Ohio passed away on July 13, 2023 at the age of 89. Ken was an avid fan of cars and enjoyed racing in the good old days. He made a living as an auto mechanic and eventually purchased his own service station in the Portage Lakes community. Akron Public Schools approached Ken to teach auto mechanics within their school system. Eventually, Ken retired at the age of 55 to enjoy boating and fishing on Lake Erie with his lovely wife of 65 ½ years. They enjoyed spending their winters in Florida.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Evans (Lundy) and son Michael Evans. He is survived by daughter, Vicki Hayes (Jeff King); and son, Mark Evans (Diane Evans) – 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 from 5 to 7 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 7 p.m., at Bacher-Moore Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd., Akron, OH 44319. Dr. Roderick C. Pounds Sr, officiating.
