Kevin R. Kerns, 65, passed away on May 31, 2020. Kevin was born in Akron, Ohio to the late Ross and Martha Kerns on April 26, 1955 and worked for Owens Corning for 40 years, where he was currently a Senior Technician.
His hobbies included restoring late model cars and trucks from the 70’s, listening to 70’s music, carpentry, and woodworking. Kevin was considered an all-around handyman, who could fix just about anything.
He had a servants’ heart for his family and friends. His grandchildren were the apple of his eye. Kevin was his children’s protector, who was pure and loyal of heart. His charm and humor were contagious and those who knew him, loved spending time with him. Kevin was a man of principle, who truly loved and honored his family.
He was preceded in death by his brother, William Kerns.
Kevin is survived by his wife of 45 years, Robin; children, Brandy (Joe) Myers-Blevins, Rachel (Don) May-Sine and Kristina (Robert) Cowling; grandchildren, Kailey and Alyssa Myers, Shelby and Bryan May, Austen Grooms and Braeden Cowling; sisters, Kay Strickland, Sherre (George) Mayes, Shelia (Jim) Kroah, Lucy (Scott) Hall; special family friend, Doug Bryant; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Kevin’s caregivers and the staff at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center for the compassionate care they provided to Kevin.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Kevin on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Wadsworth, Ohio, starting at 12:30 p.m. at the cemetery pavilion. The family requests that you practice safe social distancing and wear a mask to protect those around you.
You are invited to send flowers to the family that morning by way of the funeral home and share photos, memories, and other condolences with them through Kevin’s "Tribute Wall" on the tab above.
