Laura L. Harpster

Laura L. Harpster (nee Braucher) 62, passed away July 15, 2022, holding the hands of her sister, after a courageous battle with cancer.  She is now pain free in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28)

Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Dale P. and Delores (Duriez) Braucher; grandparents, Dale M. and Milvada Braucher, Harold and Fay Duriez; sister, Julie Perrera; nephews, Josh Perrera and Aaron Braucher.

She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Robert (Bob) Harpster; beloved daughter, Samantha Harpster; sister and best friend, Kerry Perkins; brother-in-law, Randy Perkins; special nephews who she loved like her own, Nick, Jake, and Matthew Perkins; brothers, Mike Braucher of N. Carolina, and Mark; aunts, Brenda Stasko and Bette Lou (Gale) Gault; nephew, Chris Perrera; niece, Emily Abel; cousins, Lisa, Tracy, Michele, Roger, and Debi, life-long friends Martha Gross, Kevin Schueller, and Marty Crine; her sweet pup, Stassi and cat, Mr. Black; numerous other family members and friends.

Laura was a 1978 graduate of Manchester High School.  Her senior year she was selected to be a foreign exchange student and was to spend a year in Brazil but only went for 6 months because she was afraid her baby sister, (Kerry) would forget who she was.  This started her love of traveling and she took many vacations with her friends over the years  Laura was an in-home daycare provider for over 30 years and formed many lifelong bonds with families. She was a member of the former Manchester Trinity Chapel.  She loved spending time with family and friends, was an outstanding cook and baker (nobody could make a better pie!).  She enjoyed collecting antiques, cookbooks, and children’s books, decorating, all the holidays, reading, history, gardening, tag sales, Dachshund dogs, going to thrift stores and playing games with Samantha, watching TV with Bob and motorcycle rides when they were first married, decorating cookies, Black Friday shopping, and deck parties with Kerry and Martha, and yearly visits with Mike. We will forever miss her sense of humor, laugh, and smile. You were blessed if you knew her. Girl, you were truly one-of-a-kind!!

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:4)
