Lester L. Lucas

Lester L. Lucas Sr., 86, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 15, 2022. He was born on July 15, 1936 in Akron, Ohio to the late Lester and Grace (Stoltz) Lucas. In 1955, Les married his high school sweetheart, Lois, and began serving in the Naval Reserves. He was a manager at Carter Jones Lumber Co. He then owned and operated L & M Construction Co. for more than 20 years before retiring. Les was a member of the Rubber City Model A Club where he enjoyed driving his Model A around visiting nursing homes and joining in parades. He was a member of Star Lodge #187 F & A M and was a 32nd Degree Mason. Les also belonged to the Barberton Kiwanis. He was a faithful member and head usher of the former Akron Baptist Temple, and currently was a member of First Baptist Church of Barberton. 

He was preceded in death by his brother, James Lucas. Les is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lois: daughter, Marcia (Tony) Baker; son, Lester (Pam) Lucas, Jr.; grandchildren, Stephanie, Tina (Eric), Brian (Jennifer), Stacey (Scott), Logan (Kristen), Lindsey (Jacob), Landon; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Patricia; and a host of friends that he made over the years.

The family will greet friends at Bacher Moore Funeral Home, 3250 Greenwich Rd., Norton, OH 44203 on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 from 5 to 8 p.m. with a Masonic Service beginning at 7 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 11 am.. with Pastor Mike Prebynski officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Barberton, 254 6th St. NW, Barberton, OH 44203, in memory of Les Lucas.

My husband Jerry reunited with his high school chum after many years out of high school with good times together meeting for breakfast at Farmer Boy and especially reunion
times held at his lovely home with
Lois who shared their hospitality . Les was a super man always willing to share his time and his home. Prayers for comfort for the family and his dear wife Lois as you grieve the loss of your beloved, Sincerely Barb Bergdorf

Worked for him at carter jones for many years... a tough but fair Boss who always got the best out of people...Ran into him many times later on...what a character!!.. he will be missed!!!
