Marcella P. Scott (nee Smith)

Marcella P. Scott (nee Smith), 93, went home to be with the Lord on October 25, 2018 at Pleasant View Health Care Center in Barberton.  She was born April 1, 1925 in Lowell, OH to the late Earl A. and Hilma M. Smith.  She graduated from Marietta High School in 1943 and then worked for Firestone Aircraft during World War II and later worked for Yoder Brothers Greenhouse. Marcella had a personal relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a member of Goss Memorial Church since 1947.  She had attended the Kings Herald Sunday School Class and helped with VBS and the “Willing Workers.”  She volunteered at Haven of Rest Ministries.

Marcella was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Walter J.; brothers, Robert E. (Clara), William P., and Paul R. (Alta) Smith; and brother-in-law, John L. Rech.   She is survived by her son, John W. Scott; daughter, Sandra K. (Gale) Ebie; brother, Earl J. (Joan) Smith; sisters, Joan M. Rech and Dorothy A. (Richard) Stauch;  sister-in-law, Dorothy Smith; grandchildren, Allison (Joseph) South and Garrison Ebie; great-grandchildren, Alan South and Carmen South; and best friend, Mary Louise Taylor.

The family wants to thank the staff of Pleasant View Health Care Center for all the care they gave to Marcella.

Friends may call at Goss Memorial Church, 2247 11th St. SW, Akron on Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m., with service beginning at 2 p.m., Pastor Bud Couts officiating.  Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Goss Memorial Church, Haven of Rest Ministries, or the Alzheimers Associaton, in memory of Marcella
