Marian Aline Parry

Marian A. Parry went home to the lord on Tuesday, June 30, 2009. Marian was born in Akron on August 16, 1923, to parents John T and Sarah M Patton. A child of the great depression, she graduated in 1941 from Central High School, days later she married her beloved husband Kenneth Parry, whom she remained with until his death in 1997. Marian was a lifetime and devoted member of High Street Christian Church. She was employed by Green Cross and later The Akron Clinic until her retirement in 1985. During her spare time, Marian enjoyed road trips, reading mysteries, and a good game of cards. Above all, Marian enjoyed spending time with her family. Her devotion to her children was recognized when she won WAKR's mother of the year award in 1966. Marian cared for many foster children during the years, and continued to do so well into her 60's. The family would like to send their thanks to Debbie and John MacDonald and special care givers Carla and Nicole. She will sorely be missed by the many who were touched by her selfless demeanor and benevolent nature. For I am already on the point of being sacrificed; the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on the Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing. (Timothy 4:6-8) Marian is survived by her children, Laura (James) Wiedie, Carol (Ronal) Conner, June Parry, Beth (Timothy) Larch, Kathleen Stutler and Kevin Parry; 8 grandchildren,; 11 great grandchildren; and many other loving family and friends. Funeral service will be Friday, 2:00 pm at HENNESSY-BAGNOLI FUNERAL HOME, 936 N. MAIN ST., AKRON. Visitation will be from noon to 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Marian's final resting place will be Rose Hill Burial Park.
