Marie Wages

Marie Wages, 79, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022. She was born on Friday, June 19, 1942 in Hampton, Virginia to the late Wesley and Susie (Smith) Oast and lived in the Akron area most of her life. Marie enjoyed singing with the Mother Singers, was active in the local PTA, enjoyed TV, cooking and gospel singing, especially the Gaither’s. She had attended the Chapel in Akron.

 

Along with her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her brothers, Walter Oast, James (Janet) Oast; and brother-in-law, Avery Livingood.  She is survived by her husband, Richard Wages; daughters, Maria Wages, Nicole (Justin) Martin; brothers, Harold (Linda) Oast Jr., Billy (Roberta) Oast; sister, Janet Livingood; grandson, Zachery Vargo; and many nieces and nephews.

 

The family will greet friends on Monday, February 21, 2022 at Bacher Moore Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd., Akron, OH 44319 from 5 to 7 p.m., where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Mark Teal officiating. Interment to follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

Kindness and love is what she was made of. She will be greatly missed and our love for her will forever stay in our hearts. Although difficult, we must celebrate a life well lived. Love you Aunt Rie
