Marilyn Jean Chuha (Basinais)
October 5, 1931  -  November 12, 2022

Marilyn Chuha, 91, Paul's loving wife of 69 years, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022.  Marilyn was born October 5, 1931 to the late Fred and Rose Basinais (Herman). She was raised in the Portage Lakes area and graduated in 1949 from Manchester High School where she was crowned "Miss Manchester." Marilyn and Paul married in 1953, lived in Kenmore, then moved to New Franklin and raised their family. Marilyn loved golfing and taking one-day road trips.  She worked at Portage Lakes Hardware and retired, after 14 years, from Co-op Optical. Marilyn was a faithful member of Grace Bible Church. She believed in, and loved the Lord, and is now alive with Him and her loved ones. 

In addition to her parents, and her dear husband Paul, Marilyn was preceded in death by her sister Janette Botos and long-time friend, Shirley Lang. She is survived by three daughters, Susan (Dan) Mayberry of Canal Fulton, Karen (Rick) Campbell and Diane Cannon, of Texas; grandchildren, Brian (Jen) Menefee of Canton, Kevin Menefee of Canal Fulton, Erin and Lauren Flake and Jake Cannon of Texas; sister-in-law Cathryn Eberhardt, dear friends Don and Sue Holler, Charlotte Heisler, Nancy Dangle, Dorothy Suit, Marilyn Young and many others.  A special thank you to her loyal neighbors, Bob (Concetta) Rambacher and Denny Hiser for all their selfless help over the years, and Trish Bucey, her wonderful home caregiver. We are so grateful to Rose Lane and Crossroads Hospice for providing comfort and dignity to Marilyn in her last days.  

Friends may call at Bacher-Moore Funeral Home (Portage Lakes), 3326 Manchester Road, Akron, OH 44319 on Thursday, November 17 from 5 to 7 PM and on Friday, November 18, at 10 AM with the service at 11 AM, Pastor Cary Duckett officiating.  Marilyn's final resting place will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at 12:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, we ask memorials be made in Marilyn's name to Grace Bible Church, 5781 Manchester Road, New Franklin, Ohio 44319.
