Mary Ann Kimmel

Mary Ann Kimmel, 78, passed away on April 19, 2021 after a short battle with leukemia. She was born June 12, 1942 in Barberton to Bernard and Louie Snider. She graduated from Norton High School in 1960, then from the University of Akron with her Bachelor’s Degree, and Kent State University with her Master’s Degree. Mary Ann loved to teach kindergarten in the Barberton School System and retired in 2001 after 38 years of service. She played the piano and violin and enjoyed being a part of the New Horizons Musical Group along with her husband. She enjoyed scrapbooking, sewing, and gardening. Mary Ann had a smile that would “light up a room” and was always taking care of other people’s needs.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, James; brother, Joseph (Sally) Snider of Ft. Wayne, IN; sisters, Ruth (Tom) Spradlin of Wadsworth, OH and Nancy (Elliott) Weber of Brownsville, OH; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Friends may call at Bacher Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd., Akron on Monday, April 26, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with service beginning at 1 p.m. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society, in memory of Mary Ann.
