Mary Rose Conti

Mary Rose Conti, 84, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, went home to be with the Lord and her loving husband and family on Tuesday, October 31, 2023.

Mary was born Sunday, September 3, 1939 to the late Salvatore and Serafina (Luceno) Amedeo and lived in the Akron/Cuyahoga Falls area all of her life. She helped her husband Don start the family business, Conti Tool & Die, Inc. in 1960 and took on many roles (aka "The Real Boss"), but most importantly was her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother. Mary was a faithful member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She loved visiting the grandchildren everyday when they were little and they returned the love as they grew up through the years. Mary was always a perfectionist in all she did, including: cross-stitching, knitting, and crocheting; baking her legendary cookies; and making thousands of Rosaries for the missions. She endured years of illness, never complained (well maybe sometimes), and always kept a strong Faith and positive attitude.

Mary wanted it to be known that she was very proud of her husband Don's involvement with The NASA Space Program Apollo Missions, and his role as an Army Honor Guard. (She regretted not including these in Don's obituary, and promised not to haunt us if we couldn't include them in her's. This is just one example of how she always put everyone else before herself.)

Tom and Joe would like to give a special thanks to their sister Donna for her selfless sacrifice in helping their mom over the many years.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband and soul mate, Donald L. Conti, father-in-law, Anthony Conti, mother-in-law, Virginia Conti, brothers, Vito, Frank (Carol), Ralph, and Joe Amedeo, daughter-in-law, Kathy Conti, brother-in-law, Gino Conti. She is survived by her loving children, Donna Conti, Tom (Lesley) Conti, Joe Conti; adoring grandchildren, Mary (Frank) Collins, Tommy Conti, Joey Conti, Anthony Conti, Emily Conti, Joe "Jojo" Conti; sister-in-laws, Cleta and Hope Amedeo; her puppy, Cannoli; and many other loving nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Father Tom McCann for his support, visits, and comforting words he left with Mary and her family.

Visitation will be Friday, November 3, 2023, 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Hennessy-Bagnoli-Moore Funeral Home, 936 North Main Street, Akron, Ohio 44310 (Corner of Mildred and N. Main). Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am, Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 1905 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44223, with  Rev. Father Tom McCann Officiating. Mary's final resting place will be Holy Cross Cemetery immediately following Mass.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mary's name to Sisters of Life Annunciation, 38 Montebello Rd. Suffern, NY 10901.
