Mary Belle Shipley

Mary Belle Shipley, 91, went home to be with the Lord on December 1, 2020 at The Sanctuary in Wadsworth. She was born July 15, 1929 in Akron, Ohio to the late Homer and Chloe Mullenax. Mary had grown up in the Akron area most of her life. She enjoyed her family, shopping and dancing. Her favorite wedding song was “Play that Funky Music White Boy”. She had belonged to the Eagles, Polish Club, FOP, and the Mogadore Moose. Mary sold shoes for Wagner Marsh, Nobil’s and Sears for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Freeman Shipley; and son-in-law, Gerald Kyser.   Mary is survived by her children, Renee Kyser, Robert (Cheryl) Shipley, and David Shipley; grandchildren, Michael Martine, Michelle Napier (fiancé, Jason Hamblin), Jason (Jennifer) Shipley, Kara (Brian) Halcomb, Katelyn (Nathan) Wenger; great-grandchildren, Carissa, Courtney, and Chloe Napier, Madison and Hannah Shipley, Aubrey and Autumn Halcomb, and Isaac Wenger.

Private Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be held at a later date.

The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff of The Sanctuary for their excellent care of their mother.
