Michael William Spidare, a new member of Medina, OH community passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 17, 2024. Born on May 16, 1948, in Akron, OH, to the late William and Angeline (Calamaro) Spidare, Michael’s life was one of love and friendship. He was a devoted husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Raised on North Hill in Akron, OH, he attended St. Anthony of Padua grade school and graduated from Archbishop Hoban High School in 1966. Michael worked his way through college and earned a Business degree and a Marketing degree from Akron University. He applied that education to a long and illustrious career in Sales and Marketing. He launched successful products that revolutionized large-format displays. He took great care of his customers and many of them became lifelong friends.

His Sicilian heritage was important to him and a big part of his identity. Both sets of his grandparents, Nunziato and Maria (Caruso) Spitaleri and Frank and Carmela (Iuculano) Calamaro immigrated from Sicily. Like most Sicilians, Michael loved gardening and making a beautiful lawn. He was meticulous.  Michael’s faith in God was strong. He was a man of prayer and daily meditation.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Frances (Raper) Spidare, his sons Todd (Karen), Matthew (Erin), and Alex (Kelli), beautiful grandchildren: Joyce, Thomas, Noah, Jonathan, Bradley, Caroline, and Annabelle Spidare, his former wife and mother to his sons, Nancy Spidare, sister Patti (Phil) Reynolds, brothers and sisters-in-law, Linda Fay (Richard) Mashburn, Jim Raper (Scott Holtham), Mike (Tonya) Raper, Alan (Deb) Raper, Earl (Ellen) Raper, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be Sunday April 28, 2024, from 2 - 5 PM with a prayer service at 2 PM and a Eulogy at 5 PM  at Hennessy-Bagnoli-Moore Funeral Home 936 N. Main Street Akron, OH.  Mass of Christian burial will be at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Monday, April 29, 2024 at 11 AM with Father Edward Burba officiating. Inurnent will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron, OH. Pallbearers will be Alex and Matthew Spidare.
