Emma L. Yehnert Mimi Coberly

Mimi Coberly, 95, passed away peacefully in Akron, OH on February 21, 2022 with family and caregivers at her side. Mimi who was born on June 14, 1926, married and raised her family in Akron and Cuyahoga Falls, OH. Mimi was an active woman who competed in roller skating and synchronized swimming in her youth. She and Dale loved hosting parties for friends and family and she was a cosmetologist who continued to use her skills to the benefit of friends and family throughout her life. In retirement, Mimi and Dale moved to Southern California and enjoyed many happy years with their children and grandchildren, before returning home to Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 yrs, Dale; sons-in-law, Kenneth Neilsen and Tim Taggart; her mother Mae Buckner; sister and brother-in-law, Helen and William Darst.

She is survived by her children Linda Taggart; Gary Coberly & Judy Verlander; and Laura Neilsen Miyoshi & Todd Miyoshi. Grandchildren: Brianna Neilsen & David Bush; Allison & James Joseph; Cole Neilsen; Michelle Miyoshi; and Michael Miyoshi. Great-Grandchildren: Kenneth, Lucas, and Ceva Bush-Neilsen. Nieces and their families: Patricia & Ronald Norris; Nancy DeLuca. Many cousins, and friends at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Laguna Woods, CA.

The family will greet friends at Bacher Moore Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd., Akron, OH 44319 on Friday, February 25, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by a service beginning at 11 a.m. Interment at East Akron Cemetery.
