Nicholas J DeSimone Sr., 74, passed away November 6, 2008. He will be greatly missed. Born in Akron on May 10, 1934 to the late Angelo and Fiora DeSimone, Nicholas was raised in Italy from the age of 4. In 1953 at the age of 18, he returned to America and joined the Carpentry Union 639. He was drafted to the US Army on March 11, 1957. He was stationed at Fort Sill, OK until his discharge on March 11, 1959. In 1961 he began working for Sykes Construction until his retirement. Along with his parents, Nicholas is preceded in death by his brother, Frank DeSimone; and brother-in-laws, Gabriel Pascucci and Donald Smith. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 52 years, Violanda; daughter, Anna (Jim) Janish; sons, Angelo (Beverly), Anthony (Lisa), and Nicholas Jr. DeSimone; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Pascucci; sister-in-laws, Rose Smith and Madaline DeSimone; brother-in-law, Vince (Jean) Panaia; nieces, Mary Lou (Pat) Daugherty, Fiora (Doug) Megenhardt, Sandra (Keith) Hengeli and Patty Ann DeSimone; nephew, Frank (Julia) DeSimone; and many other loving nieces, nephews, family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, 9:30 am at St. Anthony Church, 83 Mosser Place, Akron. Visitation will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 at HENNESSY-BAGNOLI FUNERAL HOME, 936 N.
