Patricia Ann DeFreest, 79, loving wife, Mom, Grammy, sister and aunt, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2022.

Patricia was born Wednesday, July 14, 1943 to the late Earl and Albina Harrod and split her time on earth between the Portage Lakes and Naples, Florida. She worked for Barberton Citizen’s Hospital as a Surgical Technician. Patricia was a faithful member of Naples’ United Church of Christ. She loved: traveling the world with Lynn (Ireland, Russia, The Mediterranean, South America, Africa, Iceland, Paris, Italy, Scotland, England/Wales, Australia, New Zealand, Bora Bora, the Galapagos Islands, Tahiti, Amsterdam, Jamaica, Cozumel, Mexico, Norway, Finland, Sweden, and all over the US), cooking for her family, reading, “playing” in the dirt (no weed was safe when she was around), Pelican Bay Beach time with family, decorating her home for Christmas, counted cross-stitching, Florida friends and activities, The NY Times crossword puzzles, Jamocha shakes, dinners out with friends, kayaking, Florida Beach Fitness, roller blading and snow skiing (well into her 50's!!) and watching Naples sunsets with Lynn hoping to see a “Green Flash”.

In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn J. DeFreest; and brother, Richard Harrod. She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly (David Harvey) Warren; sons, Keith (Tonya) Warren, Mark Warren, Jeff (Kari) DeFreest, and Eric (Melissa) DeFreest; grandchildren, Joshua Warren, Nicolai, and Zachary DeFreest; her crazy cat, Shadow; and many other loving family members and friends.

Now she will be “forever in blue jeans" and forever in our hearts.

Visitation will be Thursday from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm, Dec. 29, 2022 at Bacher-Moore Funeral Home (Portage Lakes), 3326 Manchester Road, Akron, Ohio 44319.  Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:00 pm at the Funeral Home (Portage Lakes). Patricia's final resting place will be Greenlawn Memorial Park.
