Phil V. LoCascio, 87, passed away March 16, 2008, after a brief illness Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Josephine; brother, John; and sister, Mary Lutz. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Emmanueline "Babe" (nee Ciavarella); sister, Connie (Joe) DiCeglio of Akron; children, Joe (Sandy) of Cuyhoga Falls, Phil (Cindy) of Scottsdale AZ, Linda (Jerry) Engler of Jackson Twp, Larry (Cathy) of Orlando FLA, and Laurie (Frank Sgro) of Tallmadge; grandchildren, Stephanie (Mike) Abood, Joe (Amanda) of Atlanta GA, Philip, Alison (Dan) DeGeorge, Paul (Karie), Maria (Josh) Haddad, Vince, Tara (Andy) Kerscher, Steven Kulesza of Scottsdale AZ, Lawrence, Lou, and Madelyn of Orlando FLA, Gino, Vincent Sgro; and 11 great grandchildren; Logan, Taylor, Zoe, Rachel, Sarah, Emma, Drew, Abby, Luke, Sammy, Mia, and one on the way; and many other loving family and friends. Phil retired from BF Goodrich in 1982 after 42 years. Phil was an outstanding athlete playing semi-pro football, boxing, and as a baseball player was offered a contract with the New York Yankees and was placed in the Summit County Softball Hall of Fame in 1988. He was also a master woodworker. Services will be held Thursday at 11:30 am, March 20, 2008 at St. Martha's Catholic Church, 300 E. Tallmadge Ave. with calling hours on Wednesday from 5 pm to 8 pm at HENNESSY-BAGNOLI FUNERAL HOME, 936 N. MAIN ST. Phil's final resting place will be at HolyCrossCemetery.
