Phyllis K. Evans

Phyllis K. Evans, 98, passed away on July 1, 2022.  She was born September  7, 1923 in Akron to the late Lyman and Karen Rhodes. She retired from Firestone as an executive secretary and also worked for Dr.Woodbury._She married her high school sweetheart in Waco, Texas while he was in the U.S. Army during WWII.  She loved to travel (Tokyo, Rome, Paris, Athens, Rio, Hong Kong) and in later years loved to cruise the Caribbean.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Dale; her daughter Gayle; son, Rick; and brother, Richard.  She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly; son in law, Robert Shapiro; nieces, Vicki Mariola and Debbie Gatrell; nephews, Mike Rhodes, Alan and Craig McClung,

Friends may call at Bacher Moore Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd., Akron, OH 44319 on Thursday, July 14, 2022 from 4:00 to 6 p.m., where services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m., Pastor Mike Freeman officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. For the safety of the family and other guests, masks are requested. Your cooperation and patience are appreciated.
