Pio Carmine Falasca, 85, passed away October 19, 2007 after a long and courageous battle with cancer at Akron City Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Born in Carovilli, Italy, Pio came to America in 1963 where he moved to Akron and lived all of his life. He was a member of St. Anthony Church and worked for Miller Construction retiring in 1985. Pio was a veteran of World War II and an avid outdoorsman, who loved to hunt, fish, garden and spend time with his grandchildren. Pio is preceded in death by his wife, Beata; and brother, Adolfo Falasca. He is survived by his children, Vince (Vivian) Falasca of Suffield, Joseph (Lorinda) Falasca of Green, Tony (Annette) Falasca of Springfield Twp. and Angela Eleo of Akron; grandchildren, Tino, Ashley, Julianna and Katelin; great-grandson, Tripp; sisters, Livia Parisi of Akron and Lucia Conti of Italy; brother-in-law, Dante (Maria) Parisi of Akron; and many loving nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, 9:30 am at St. Anthony Church, 83 Mosser Place, Akron. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 9 pm at HENNESSY-BAGNOLI FUNERAL HOME, 936 N. MAIN ST., AKRON. Pio's final resting place will be HolyCrossCemetery.
