Priscilla (Peggy) Miller Slater. 90, passed away on Saturday April 24, 2021. She was born in Akron, Ohio to the late Earl Miler and Eva Macbeth and raised by them and by her stepfather, William Tedrow.
Peggy graduated from North High School in Akron, Ohio and lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania before returning to Akron with her husband. Peggy’s family was the center of her life. A wise, loving and supportive mother, grandmother and friend, Peggy was known for her kindness, wit and generosity. She had a great devotion to her dogs; Peggy’s English Springer Spaniels (and several others) were beloved companions. Retired from a career as a pharmacy tech, her hobbies included reading, gardening, travel, playing cards and bingo. She was a generous supporter of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Wayne County.
Along with her parents, Peggy is preceded in death by her husband, Richard W. Slater and son Phillip R. Slater. She is survived by two daughters, Cynthia
Slater and Vicki Slater of Rittman; granddaughters, Julie and Janet Werner of Odessa, Florida; a cousin, Janice Miller of Wadsworth and numerous friends in Ohio & Pennsylvania.
A gathering to celebrate the life of Peggy Slater will be held at a future time.
