Richard F. Stoltz, 72, loving father, grandfather, son, brother and friend passed away Sunday, May 28, 2023.
Richard was born Monday, Oct. 2, 1950 in Spangler, PA.  He lived in the Akron area most of his life and graduated from Akron North High School.  He was a proud US Army Veteran, drafted to the US Army when he was 19 years old serving in the 25th Infantry Division.  His tours included Vietnam and Cambodia where he received 2 purple hearts and 1 bronze star with an Oak Leaf cluster.  After his tour and seeing how horribly he and other vets were treated coming home from Vietnam, he became an advocate for veterans, helping thousands of vets over the years.  He volunteered at Ohio Veterans' Memorial Park as well as becoming a Life member of the Cuyahoga Falls VFW #1062 and the American Legion.  He worked for the USPS for over 30 years, was a member of the Polish American Club and Cuyahoga Falls Elks, and loved golfing, reading and spending time with his friends.
Richard is preceded in death by his mother, Sonya Stoltz; brother, Kenneth Stoltz; aunt, Marge Stoltz; and friend for life, Frank Racano.  He is survived by his sons, Joe and Michael Stoltz; grandchildren, Trinidy, Skyler, Anthony, and Maria; father, Francis Stoltz; sister, Monika Mihiylov; brother, Dale (Pam) Stoltz; sister-in-law, Barbara Stoltz; good friend, Bill (Toni) Norman; special friend, Jaye Watson; the Aberdeen St. Gang and many other loving family and friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 4, 2023 from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm at Hennessy-Bagnoli-Moore Funeral Home, 936 North Main Street, Akron, Ohio 44310.  Richard's final resting place will be Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ohio Veterans' Memorial Park, 8005 S Cleveland Massillon Rd, Clinton, OH 44216 at https://www.ovmp.org/donate.htm .
