Robert A. Valentine

Robert A. Valentine, 92, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2023. He was born on Wednesday, November 5, 1930 in Barberton, Ohio to the late Harry and Marian (Vanatta) Valentine. Bob was a 1954 graduate of the University of Akron and  proudly served his country as a Lt. Colonel in the US Airforce before going to work at Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, where he retired after 28 years. Bob also served in the Air Force Reserves, retiring in 1990. He was a faithful member of Lockwood United Methodist Church. Bob enjoyed skiing, ice skating, bowling, and especially loved spending time with his family. 

Robert was preceded in death by his sisters, Anna Mary (Bill) Winston, Vivian (Tony) Gonzales and Geneva (Carl) Zilian, and twin brother, Richard (Jean) Valentine.  

He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Marilyn; sons, Robert (Valerie) Valentine and Jeff Valentine; daughters, Kathy (Don) Raskow and Karen (Peter) Lovell; grandchildren, Leah (Pete) Macchiarolo, Michael (Abigail) Valentine, Chris Raskow, Davis (Samantha) Moore, Matthew Raskow; great-grandchildren, Alex and Amelia, Benny, and Luca; and many other loving family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Seville, OH 44273 on Monday, October 30, 2023 at 10:15 a.m., with Rev. Dr. Vicki Hillman-Breckner officiating.
