Rosalie June Benchot

Rosalie June Benchot, 85, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2023. She was born on Thursday, June 2, 1938 in Norton, Ohio to the late Martin and Susan (Butka) Benchot and lived in the Norton area all of her life. Rosalie was a 1956 graduate of Norton High School. She was a 1959 graduate of Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing, and received her BSN in 1967 from Case Western Reserve. Rosalie received her MSN from Boston University in 1971. She received her PHD in 1998 from Case Western Reserve. Rosalie retired as Professor Emeritus of Nursing from Kent State University. She enjoyed gardening, hiking, traveling, knitting, crocheting and other activities. Rosalie was a faithful member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, in Norton.
     
Rosalie was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Ann (Wayne) Anderson; brother Martin John (Liz) Benchot; aunt, Anne (Earl) Garman; and nephew, Thomas Pumphrey. She is survived by her brother, James Benchot; sisters, Marjorie Pumphrey, and Eileen Benchot; nephew, Ryan (Jennifer) Pumphrey; and many other loving nieces, nephews and friends.

The family wishes to thank Pastor Curtis Stephens, and the nurses of Summa Hospice for their care and comfort.
