Ruth Baker

Mrs. Ruth Wilkinson Baker, age 83, of 22 Hillside Drive Rockmart passed away Wednesday, November 8th. at her residence following several years of declining health. She was born in Akron, Ohio on February 17, 1923 a daughter of the late Leland Wilkinson and Sadie Forshey Wilkinson. Mrs. Baker had been a resident of Rockmart since 1969 moving here from Kent, Ohio. Mrs. Baker was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from 1942 to 1945. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rockmart. Mrs. Baker was a Licensed Practical Nurse working for Rockmart-Aragon Hospital from 1972 until her retirement in 1981. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. George Stanley Baker on May 26, 1981 and by a brother, William (Jack) Wilkinson and by two sisters: Frances Wolfe and Edith Langrell. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Janet Stutler and her husband Virgil of Hartville, Ohio; two sons: Mr. Robert Lee Baker and his wife Rose of Akron, Ohio and Mr. John Edward Baker, Rockmart; one sister, Mrs. Edna Forshey and her husband Hoy of Tallmadge, Ohio; five grandchildren , three great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 14th. at 2:00 in the Chapel of HENNESSY-BAGNOLI FUNERAL HOME, 936 N. MAIN ST., AKRON. Interment will follow in the Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
