Ruth Ann Walter

Ruth Ann Walter, 82, passed away peacefully November 21, 2021. She was born on June 1, 1939 in Akron, Ohio to the late Paul and Mary (Gayer) Bird. Ruth worked at the Richfield Colosseum and volunteered at the MetroParks for over 17 years and was a member at Craftsman’s Park on the Portage Lakes. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking and baking homemade dishes with love, as well as traveling, hiking, biking and boating. Ruth was kind and thoughtful and never missed a birthday or anniversary. She loved having a reason to celebrate and make you feel special. Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Along with her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, William Walter; son, Craig Walter; brothers, Ted and Harold, and brother-in-law, Roy. She is survived by her sons, Dave Walter, Steve (Rosann) Walter; sister, Karen (Robert), Earl (Noreen); brother-in-law, Virgil (Billie); grandchildren, Angela, Matt, Mark, Evan, Erik, Jessica, J.C., Paige, Zach, Nick; and great-grandchildren, Aubree, Parker, Luke, and Theo; all of whom she loved dearly.

The family will greet friends at Bacher Moore Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd., Akron, OH 44319 on Friday, November 26, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. with Rev. Ernie Kemppel officiating. Ruth's final resting place will be Mount Peace Cemetery in Akron, Ohio.
