Sara Vitale

Sara Vitale, 91, passed away on April 24 after a short illness. Born on Sept. 19, 1918, in Akron, Ohio to the late John and Rose Ficarra. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Russell. She is survived by her 3 sons, Russell (Janice) of Cuyahoga Falls, Daniel of Cuyahoga Falls, and David (Brenda) of Kent and 5 grandchildren, Michael, Jennifer, Leslie, Nathen, and Anthony and 7 great-grandchildren, Erica, Claudia, Isabella, Dominick, Samuel, Jacob and Natalie and sister Rosalie Crisafulli of Fairlawn. Sara retired from the alterations department of the J.C. Penney Co. and then started her own business of making custom draperies. Finally arthritis in her fingers forced her to retire again but it never kept her from working every day when the weather permitted in her flower and vegetable garden. When not working outside she could be found inside baking cookies and pies. Friends may call from 10:30 am to noon on Thursday at the Victory Life Church, 3833 Hudson Dr., Stow, Ohio. A funeral service will be held at noon that day at the church with Pastor Cyndie Rogers officiating. Burial will be at Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls.
