Sharon Lena Puraty

Sharon L. Puraty, 68, passed away April 4, 2010 with her family by her side. Sharon was born in Coronado, CA in 1941 while her father, Louis served in the US Navy but lived in Akron most of her life. She retired from Akron Public Schools after 30 years of service. Sharon loved traveling and spending time with her special friend of many years, Ed. She also loved socializing, shopping, music and dancing to the Oldies but Goodies. Sharon is preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Daniel in 1996; and parents, Louis and Edna (Richter) Stumpf. She is survived by her daughters, Patty (John) White and Denise (Ken) Butler; grandchildren, Justin, Danielle and Katelyn White and Courtney and Kaylee Fox; great-grandson, Zachary White; and special friend, Ed Laubaugh. Funeral service will be Friday, 11:00 am at Hennessy-Bagnoli Funeral Home, 936 N. Main Street, Akron, Ohio. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Sharon's final resting place will be Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
