Sharon E. Tawney

Sharon E. Tawney, 73, went home to sing with the angels on December 16, 2021. She was born October 10, 1948 in New Martinsville, WV to the late Joe and Ada Leek. She worked as a legal secretary for 48 years. Sharon was a devout Christian from the time she was 8 years old. She was a Sunday School teacher and loved serving in the church whenever she could. Sharon spent her life dedicated to her Southern Gospel singing ministry which allowed her to travel and share her faith through her talent. But to her, her greatest achievement was being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed.

Sharon was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Steve Miller. She is survived by her husband of 19 years Virgil Tawney; sons, Steve Miller, Michael (Lois) Miller; step-son, Tom (Kathleen) Tawney; sisters, Cheryl (Tom) Hardgrove, Brenda Leek; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.

Tuesday, December 21, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held at Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. MASKS ARE REQUIRED FOR BOTH VISITATION AND SERVICE. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
