Simon E. Taylor

Simon E. Taylor, 95, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2024. He was born on Tuesday, December 25, 1928 in Newton, West Virginia to the late Clay Sr. and Rada (Moore) Taylor. Simon was one of 7 children. When he was 16, he came to Akron, OH where he met and married the love of his life, Mildred Lucille May, on June 14, 1949. In 1972, they purchased the family farm on Medina Line Rd. He loved and cared for Lucille dearly. He lost her in 2009, shortly before their 60th anniversary in 2009.

Simon was preceded in death by his spouse, Mildred Lucille Taylor, brothers, Eugene Taylor, Clay Taylor, Jr., Ray Taylor, and sister, Justine (Diess) Workman. He is survived by his sons, Roger Taylor, Larry (Barbara) Taylor, David (Janet) Taylor; sisters, Pauline Geraci, Christine Raymond; 7 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A gathering of family and friends will take place on Monday, April 1, 2024 at Bacher-Moore Funeral Home, 3250 Greenwich Rd., Norton, OH from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
