Stanley J. Wyszynski

Stanley J. Wyszynski, 84, died on May 16, 2008, after a brief illness. In spite of all the setbacks, he fought bravely and valiantly until his death. Stanley was born on March 21, 1924 to Antoni and Katherine Wyszynski in Akron, Ohio. He had one sister and one brother. He was raised in a Polish family and was always proud of his heritage. All of his life was spent in Akron, except for his military service. Stanley attended St. Hedwig's Grade School. He graduated from NorthHigh School. He served in the Navy during World War II and was stationed in South America. He honored his country by proudly dressing in his uniform for Memorial Day Parades. Stanley was the beloved husband of Noreen (Companion). They recently celebrated 54 years of marriage. He was a wonderful father to his daughter, Patricia (Finn), and her husband John Finn. He dearly loved his granddaughters, Julie and Colleen Finn, and proudly celebrated and shared their accomplishments. Stanley was a good provider for his family. He worked at Firestone Tire and Rubber Company for 47 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing. He also belonged to PLAV 32. After his retirement, he remained active. He helped to give loving care to his mother-in-law for many years. He was a head usher at St. Martha Church where he devoutly practiced his faith. Everyday he played pool with his senior buddies at PattersonPark and was so proud of his trophies. Every evening he faithfully went to the Cuyahoga Falls Natatorium where he loved to exercise. His daughter's dog Jamie loved their short walks together, too. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents and brother Chester. In addition to his surviving immediate family, he leaves behind his sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Al Sharnsky, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Michael and Trudy Companion, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Stanley was a sentimental man and a good man who was well liked. He gave freely of his time to anyone who needed him. He will be sadly missed by his family but always loved and remembered. Goodbye, Stan, Dad, and Grandpee. His family would like to thank the staff at Manor Care of Akron for their care and kindness. Calling hours will be on Monday, May 19 from 6-8 p.m. at Hennessy-Bagnoli Funeral Home, 936 North Main Street, Akron, Ohio, 44310. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, May 20 at 10 a.m. at St. Martha Church. Military rites conducted by the VFW Ralph Huff Post 1062 and burial will follow at HolyCrossCemetery.
