Susan Catherine Fister

Susan C. Fister, 68, went home to be with the Lord on December 11, 2020. Susan was born November 11, 1952 in Akron, Ohio to Harry and Ann Brown. She attended Copley High School graduating in 1970.

She and her husband, Tom, attended and supported Lakeside Christian Church in Akron. 

Susan was a strong supporter for the “Relay of Life” in Media and Copley, often speaking to government and civic originations. She was a strong, passionate advocate for the Cleveland Cord Blood and helped with many of its fundraising activities. She was often interviewed by the media and published in many different periodicals throughout the country, providing much needed hope to those challenged or coping with these illnesses. She loved her grandchildren and was a fun, caring, and gentle grandma. 

She is survived by her husband of 41 years and 11 months, Tom; children, Dr. Thomas Joseph (Jessica) Fister and Daniel (Sarah) Fister; brother, James (Tracy) Brown; sister, Carol Shaar; grandchildren, Madison, McKenzie, Hailey and Colton; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Susan was preceded death by her brother, Harry Brown.

Friends may call at Bacher Funeral Home, 3250 Greenwich Rd., Norton on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. 

For the safety of the family and other guests, masks must be worn, and the number of people permitted in the building at a time will be limited. Your cooperation and patience are appreciated.

Due to Covid restrictions, private services will be held.   Inurnment Copley Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lakeside Christian Church, 3535 Knollwood Ln, Akron, OH 44333in Susan’s memory.
