Susan Rae Gruver

Susan Gruver, 51, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023. She was born on Monday, December 27, 1971 in Barberton, Ohio to William and Sally (Hardgrove) Gruver. Sue’s son, Mason was the center of her world. They loved the Cleveland Indians. Her greatest pleasure was her hearing the crack of the bat as Mason hit a homerun. 

Susan was preceded in death by her grandparents, Tom and Mary Hardgrove and William and Doris Gruver.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her son, Mason Martina; sister, Kari (Robert) Mileski; and many other loving family and friends.

Thank you to an amazing circle of friends that have been with her throughout her illness. The visits to her home, the flowers sent, but most of all, the love they shared for Susan.

A special thanks to Summa Barberton’s Oncology Unit and Hospice Care staff for the compassionate care given to Susan and her family.

It’s our wish that every woman gets a mammogram every year.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Bacher-Moore Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd., Akron, OH 44319 from 4 to 7 p.m., where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at 11 a.m. Private interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
