Vance Thomas Joyce, 82, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend went to his true home with the Lord Wednesday, December 7, 2022.

Tom was born Thursday, November 7, 1940 to the late Coleman and Mary (Toler) Joyce and grew up in Ruidoso, New Mexico.  He moved to Ohio as a teenager and graduated from Copley High School in 1958.  Always with the number 42, he raced stock cars at Barberton Speedway.  Tom also served in the US Army, and worked as a cement mason for Forest-City Dillon and other contractors for over 30 years.  Tom was a faithful attender of The Chapel on Fir Hill since 1981, and he raised his children to love the Lord and walk with Jesus.  Strong and active, Tom loved  fishing, hunting, gardening, playing cards and working puzzles.  He was an avid Cavs fan, and enjoyed watching all kinds of sports.  And he especially enjoyed every minute he spent with his 9 grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Vance was preceded in death by his sisters, Melton Farus and Clarence Rae Stroupe, and his brother, Rev. Wayne Joyce.  He is survived by his wife, Helen Patricia (Sullivan) Joyce of Copley, OH; three daughters, Dawn Marie (Christopher) Swart, Debbie Lynn (Jeffrey) Carrico, and Stephanie Kay (Stephan) Newenhisen, his brother Albert and his sister, Virginia Anders, as well as many other loving family and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 17, 2022, 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm and Memorial Service at 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Bacher-Moore Funeral Home (Norton), 3250 Greenwich Road, Norton, Ohio 44203.   Vance's final resting place will be Copley Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
