Vernon J. Oatley

Vernon J. Oatley, 69, loving husband and father, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024.

Vernon was born Tuesday, November 23, 1954 to the late Milton and Doris (Kirkman) Oatley and lived in the Akron area all of his life. He worked for The City of Akron Motor Equipment, and retired in 2020. Vernon enjoyed cruising in his '64 Galaxie Ford, going to dirt track races with his son, and traveling to different casinos.

Vernon is survived by his wife, Kathy Oatley; son, Jason (Amy Boettin) Oatley; sisters, Valerie Hammock, Barbara (Chuck) Tennant; brother-in-laws, Dick (Mary) Lamp, Ron (Pat) Lamp; and many other loving nieces, nephews and friends. A special thank you to Kevin and Steve, close friends from the City of Akron, as well as Donna and the rest of the care staff from Cleveland Clinic Hospice.

Cremation has taken place and the family will hold services at a later date.
