William Allen Anthony

William A. Anthony

Bill departed this place on November 25, 2022 to enter eternity with his heavenly Father. He was a four year veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Bill was an Industrial Specialist with the U.S. Department of Defense, retiring in 1997. He was  member of Hope United Methodist Church where he once served as the Financial Secretary, as well as on other committees. He volunteered at Akron General Medical Center in the out-patient lab.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Harley and Miriam: sister, Rae Jean Dallinga; niece, Deborah Cogar; nephew, James Cogar; sister-in-law, Bessie Cogar; and his wife, Catherine who was the love of his life and best friend. He is survived by his sister, Barbara Burkey; brother, Mark Anthony; nieces, Susanne Tysinger, Linda Capple, Shirley Cogar, Lori Giorgio, Marie Spencer and Sarah Anderson; nephews, Robert Hough and David Burkey; and many great-nieces, great-nephews and friends. 

The family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale of Barberton for their excellent care of Bill.

Friends may call at Hope United Methodist Church, 2650 Cory Ave., Akron, OH 44314 on December 10, 2022 from 9 am to 11 am followed by a Memorial Service at 11 am Burial will take place at Lakewood Cemetery immediately following. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope United Methodist Church, in memory of Bill Anthony.
