William E. Friedrichsen

William E. Friedrichsen, age 66 of Akron, OH passed away April 17, 2020 in his sleep.  

Loving son of Glen (deceased) and Mary Lou (Hawk) Friedrichsen; father of Jerrad (Bethany) Friedrichsen of Shaker Hts., OH; brother of Bob (Patti) Friedrichsen, Cathy (Greg) Haidet, Chuck Friedrichsen, Dale (LeAnn) Friedrichsen, Mary Anne (Tom) Heitzenrater, Dolores (Billey Joe) White, Don (Debbie) Friedrichsen, Evelyn Fezell, and Jim (Judi) Friedrichsen,  uncle to 11 nieces, 11 nephews and their families; and friend to all.

Bill, as he was commonly known, was a graduate of Hoban High School Class of 1971 and a retiree of the City of Akron Water Department. He was an active member of Knights of Columbus and spent a lot of time volunteering and working for Blessed Trinity Parish. As a single father, Bill was heavily involved in his son, Jerrad’s, life and in the life of Jerrad’s friends. His involvement included attending sporting events and becoming president of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) while Jerrad attended Harris Elementary School.

Bill was a proud believer in Jesus Christ and spent every moment he could giving back to those around him. He was a light in the lives of those who got to know him. Bill left a magnificent legacy of peace, humility, and faith, and will be deeply missed by many.      

Private services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.  A Memorial Mass and Celebration of Life will be held at a date and time to be determined.
